This is the most technologically advanced way to assess the functionality of your feet along with any pain or gait issues related to any problems you may be experiencing.

How does it work?

1: Scanning of your feet
While you walk across the sensor plate there are thousands of sensors recording the distribution of pressure on the sole of your foot.

2: Mapping foot pressure
The computer can then display 2D and 3D visual representations of the pressure caused by your feet while you walk.

3: Reporting
The reports will then be utilised to evaluate your foot functions and analyse whether your symptoms are related to faulty foot mechanics.

4: Therapy
The chiropodist/podiatrist will then use the reports and other clinical tests to determine the next course of action and whether you need orthotics or further treatment.

The Gait Scan system is directly linked to a prescription system where we can order custom-made orthotics to realign and stabilise the bones in your feet. There are other options including exercises and  insoles which can help to relieve discomfort and restore your natural walking pattern which you will discuss with your chiropodist after these scans have taken place.
